We kindly ask that you reply to the following questions – They are carefully designed to help you understand the commitment of Golden Retriever ownership and for us to get to know you better and are not intended to sound or be judgmental in any way. We strive to educate and prepare each prospective owner so there are few unexpected surprises! Please feel free to add any additional comments. Completion of this questionnaire is required and is in no way a guarantee that a dog/puppy will be sold to or reserved for you.

Our puppies are INSIDE DOGS, meant to be part of a family “pack” and cannot be left crated all day or left outside unsupervised. Can you abide by this?*

Are you willing to take your puppy through at least 2-3 classes of obedience classes so that they are properly socialized and trained? We also recommend getting his/her CGC (Canine Good Citizen certificate).*

How do you plan on housebreaking your puppy?*

How would you describe your understanding and readiness to make the necessary, ongoing sacrifices a puppy requires?*

eg. Potty training necessitates: when they wake, after play/exercise, after meals and/or every 30 minutes the first couple of weeks, their chewing needs, some sleepless nights at first, daily appropriate exercise, staying calm to clean up from accidents (they will happen and you must never punish the puppy), safe training classes at about 10-12 weeks, safe/supervised introductions to children, appropriate socialization-safely exposing them to new sights, sounds, people and other pets

Goldens need to be groomed/brushed weekly, and sometimes daily and have their nails clipped regularly. Are you willing to do this or have it done?*

Are you open to hearing about our limited vaccination recommendation that we will share during the screening process?*

Are you willing and able to feed your puppy a *high quality food? I have many recommendations.*

*** Do you agree that if at any time you become unable to keep your puppy or dog, for whatever reason, you will contact us immediately? We like to keep tabs on our dogs for all their years to come. In addition, we have an open door policy--our dogs are always welcome back with us at anytime, for any reason!*

We strive to match the right temperament of puppy with the right home. In order to accomplish this we have each puppy temperament tested. We promise and strive to honor each person’s wishes to the best of our ability, considering the availability of each litter. If there is no suitable puppy within the current litter for you (based upon your preferences or our discretion) your deposit will be refunded. With this in mind, will you trust us to place your puppy with you?*

If upon mutual agreement, you decide to pursue a pet puppy from us, there is a required deposit of $500 to reserve a puppy for you. I begin taking reservations for a litter as soon as I have it posted on the website. I build the list on a first-come, first-serve basis, taking reservations for 3 females and 3 males for each litter. *We reserve the right to refund a full or partial deposit. * My refund policy: It is totally refundable pre-ultrasound check, which is about a month prior to birth. Should you have a change of plans post-ultrasound, but pre-birth, half ($250) is refundable. Once the puppies are born there is no refund, unless I do not have a puppy for you. Thank you.*
